How To Root Sony Xperia Acro S

Warnings:

Below are some warning statements that you must be knowing before preparing to Root or Install Custom Rom in your Sony Xperia Acro S Android Smartphone:
  • Rooting/Installing Custom ROM is not an authorized process hence you’ll be losing all your warranty benefits over your Sony Xperia Acro S after Rooting/Installing it.
  • There are certain risks of damaging your Android Smartphone while Rooting/Installing Custom ROM in it. Hence, it is recommended that you proceed at your own risk and we are not to be held responsible even if your Smartphone gets damaged during or after completing the Rooting/Custom ROM installation process.
  • You might not receive any future official software or firmware updates after rooting andinstalling Custom ROM in your Sony Xperia Acro S.

Before You Begin:

  1. Only tested on Sony Xperia Acro S with latest firmware only.
  2. Windows-based computer or laptop
  3. Download Sony Xperia Acro S USB driver for Windows and install in your computer.
  4. Skip this step if you have installed the Sony PC Companion.
  5. Enable USB Debugging on your device. Click Here, If you don’t know how to enable.
  6. Make sure your phone is charged to 60% 80% to avoid battery blackout and interruption during this tutorial.
  7. We recommend you make a backup on your data and media files before the tutorial.

Download Required Files:

  • flashtool-0.9.11.0-windows.exe
  • Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.1.96_KernelOnly.ftf (Link available in this post) (According To Firmware)
  • Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf (Link available in this post) (According To Firmware)
  • DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip (or latest version, link available in this post)

How To Root Sony Xperia Acro S:

  • Follow all the instructions given above.
  • Download all files from Download Section.
  • Install flashtool .exe file in your PC.
  • After installation of flashtool, Copy Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf  to C:\Flashtool\firmwares on your harddrive.
  • Now open the flashtool application and click on flash icon (One with a thunder symbol).
  • You will see two options  Flash Mode and Fastboot Mode, Select Flash Mode option.
  • Choose Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf and click on OK.  Follow the on-screen instructions on how to boot your device into fastboot mode and connect your device.  Also, make sure “No Final Verification” is marked.
  • Now it will reboot your device.
  • Now Enable USB Debugging and Unknow Sources installation in your device.
  • Connect your device to PC with USB cable.
  • Make sure Flash Tool is not running on your PC now. Terminate Flash Tool from task manager.
  • Now extract DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip on desktop.
  • Open the extracted folder and double-click on runme_win.bat.
  • Follow on-screen instructions and wait to completion of process.
  • Your device is rooted now.
  • Now flash the original kernel on your device.
  • Copy Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.1.96_KernelOnly.ftf  to C:\Flashtool\firmwares on your harddrive.
  • Now open the flashtool application and click on flash icon (One with a thunder symbol).
  • You will see two options  Flash Mode and Fastboot Mode, Select Flash Mode option.
  • Choose Xperia_Acro_S_LT26w_6.2.B.1.96_KernelOnly.ftf and click on OK.  Follow the on-screen instructions on how to boot your device into fastboot mode and connect your device.  Also, make sure “No Final Verification” is marked.
  • Now it will reboot your device.
