How to Root the Acer Iconia Tab A700 running ICS

Root the Acer A700
Acer Iconia Tab A700 is a Quad-Core tablet by Acer that makes your on-the-go jobs much easier. You can edit documents, watch videos, play music regardless of where you are, all from a single device. If you’re one of many owners of this device, you’d be glad to know that the A700 is rootable, that means you are now able to install root-only apps, flash a custom recovery and even delete system apps. Everything’s possible with root. This guide shows how you can root your Acer Iconia Tab A700 device and unlock its true potential.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. You must have unlocked bootloader of your device. You can unlock your bootloader from here.
3. This works on Windows based PCs only.
4. Do NOT try this on Jelly Bean, this works for ICS only.

III. Rooting the Acer Iconia Tab A700 running ICS:

1. Place the Root Package archive onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Double-click on the runit.bat file you just extracted to your Desktop.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to root your device.
7. And you should be rooted now!
Excellent! Your Acer A700 has been successfully rooted and is now all ready to be loaded with root-only apps!
