Have you messed-up with your device or its accessories? Need to send it to service center to get it repaired? Better you unroot it first. Usually, unrooting solves a lot of issues related with root-access and at the same time, it reinstates the warranty of the device. So you can then take it to the service center and get it repaired. Here’s how you can unroot your Asus Padfone 2 device and get it back to stock:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. You need to have a custom recovery installed on your device. Follow this guide to learn how to flash a recovery.
3. Make sure your device has at least 70% of battery life left to ensure an uninterrupted process.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)
2. Quick Boot — QR Code (Google Play Link)

III. Unrooting the Asus Padfone 2:

1. Put the Stock Firmware archive you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Head on over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
3. Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.
4. Copy the Stock Firmware archive over to the root of your SD card.
5. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
6. Open the Quick Boot app from App Drawer on your device.
7. Hit the Recovery option and your device will reboot into the Recovery mode.
8. Once inside Recovery mode, select install and then choose the Stock Firmware file for installation.
9. The recovery will flash the firmware on your device, should take some good time to finish.
10. Once it’s done, reboot your device.
11. And you’re done!
Excellent! Your Padfone 2 has been successfully unrooted and is back to stock now. You may not be able to install any root-only apps onwards!
