How to Unroot the HTC Droid Incredible 2



Unroot the HTC Droid Incredible 2
As rooting your device lets you install root-only apps and flash custom recoveries, unrooting allows you to restore the warranty of your device to make it a valid device at the service center. If you’ve rooted your HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphone and you now want to unroot it, then this guide is going to be useful for you. It explains how you can unroot your device as well as get it back to stock. Let’s get started with the procedure:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. Your device needs to have at least 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Select one of them)

III. Relocking Bootloader of the HTC Droid Incredible 2:

1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive to your Desktop.
3. Turn OFF your device.
4. Reboot the device into Fastboot mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
5. Select Fastboot from the options available on your screen.
6. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do that, hold down the Shift button on your keyboard and right-click on any empty area on the screen, then choose Open command window here.
8. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
fastboot oem lock
9. Once it’s done, issue the following command:
fastboot reboot
10. Your device should reboot.
11. And you’re done!
Congrats! Your bootloader has now been relocked and you can now flash the stock firmware using the following steps.

IV. Unrooting the HTC Droid Incredible 2:

1. Turn OFF your device.
2. Reboot the device into Fastboot Mode. To do that, press and hold the Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
3. Select Fastboot from the options that appear on your screen.
4. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Double-click on the Stock Firmware executable file and it’ll launch.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
7. And you should be unrooted now!
Wonderful! Your device has successfully been unrooted and is now running the official stock firmware.
