THIS PROCEDURE IS NOW OBSOLETE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR NEW ROOT PROCEDURE INSTEAD.
AT&T branded HTC One VX comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor along with one gig of RAM to boost the overall performance of the device as well as not to distract the users while they’re watching HD videos and the resource-intensive game is running in the background. The configuration seems to be great and is in line with the other high-end smartphones, such as HTC One X. If you’ve purchased the device or thinking to get one, you’ll be happy to know that it’s got a root method and I assume that you already know the advantages of root access. It lets you install root-only apps, remove system apps, modify system files, to name a few. In the following guide, we’ve put together all the steps you should follow to root your HTC One VX smartphone. Let’s get the ball rolling:
By EditAndroid
I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting the device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. Make sure your device’s charged fully or has at least 60% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Drivers
2. Root Package
III. Rooting the HTC One VX:
1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Double-click on the Drivers executable file and install the drivers.
3. Once drivers are installed, reboot your PC.
4. Next, extract files from the Root Package archive to your Desktop.
5. Turn ON the USB debugging function on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
6. Once enabled, connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Launch the root tool by double-clicking on root.bat file you have on your Desktop.
8. Follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
9. You should be rooted now!
Brilliant! The root access has successfully been achieved on your HTC One VX and from now on, you should be able to install root-only apps on the device.
